About Love Munich
Who writes Love Munich, why it exists, and how an independent editorial guide to München is put together.
- ✓Love Munich is an independent editorial guide to München, Bavaria — not affiliated with the city or any tourism board.
- ✓Every guide is written and edited by people who live with the city's rhythms: Weißwurst before noon, a Maß under the chestnuts, the Glockenspiel at eleven.
- ✓We earn no commission from the venues we recommend; picks are editorial.
An independent guide, in the city's own black-and-gold
Love Munich is an editorial travel guide to München — the beer gardens under the chestnuts, the Eisbach standing wave, Marienplatz and the Glockenspiel, the palaces and the Pinakotheken, and the Alpine and lakeside day trips a train ride away. We write in the city's own civic colours — the black-and-gold of the Münchner Kindl — rather than Bavaria's blue-and-white lozenge, because this is a guide to Munich the city, on its own terms.
We are independent. We are not affiliated with the Landeshauptstadt München, any tourism board, or any venue we write about, and we take no commission on the places we recommend. When we point you to an official source — Oktoberfest dates, museum hours, transit fares — we link it so you can confirm the detail yourself before you book.
Who writes it
Guides are written and edited by Lena Brandhuber, editor, and the Love Munich editorial team. Munich-based travel editor who has written about the city's beer gardens, palaces and Alpine day trips for the better part of a decade.
If something here is out of date, or you know a beer garden we've missed, we'd genuinely like to hear it.
